I never said it was....it AWFUL up here! But we do have mental health care covered my medicare if one is lucky enough to get in.

Man you very rarely hear about stuff like this happening in the south. We are armed and everyone knows it. The only time you hear about this crap here is the occasional coward in Atlanta normally who takes out people in a day care or some other weak crap like that. I guess in Colorado they don't have concealed weapons permits? The boy would have been gunned down within seconds here I promise you.

We always here how guns should be banned and how they kill innocent people. We never hear how many ppl were saved by guns. You go on YouTube and type in "71 yr old shoots criminals" a few vids will pop up of an incident that just happened a few days ago... We didn't hear anything about that incident tho and how the 71 year old saved the day

Not sure about that. People with mental issues are pretty aware they are "different" and not well, but those who are let's say Narc's or Sociopaths will never seek help for it.
It's tough to combat mental illness because of the stigma attached, but I believe if more doors were open for those with mental illness wanting help, there would be less violence.
Not sure if the government would force meds, but I guess it happens. There are so many other amazing ways to deal with mental health, but it's not an area the medical community puts the focus on.
They are too busy trying to "cure" cancer and aids and such.

More guns will not solve this problem I believe

They're not related. Do you think a mentally ill person that wants to wipe out a bunch of people won't do it if they can't legally buy a gun?

I live in Denver and concealed carry permits are very looked down upon. Carrying a weapon in a public place with tons of civilians even moreso. Hopefully this will change that.

And I'm sure scotsman is fine bro........we have mutual friends and he lives out in Westminster, theres no reason he wouldve been in aurora.

what I find strange is what leads these people to exteriorize their anger? why dont they interiorize it and kill themselves? This unfortunate event is even weirder because he didnt do it at school or at work with people he knows/hates, he did it in a premier of a popular movie with complete strangers and children, also he did not try to kill himself like a lot do, let's see if he eventually speaks up as to why he did it, not that there is any possible justification.

I remember a while back a guy found out his wife was cheating and he killed her, then he climbed to a tower in his university and started killing people, upon autopsy it was found he had a tumor pressing on to the impulse control of his brain, in other words he literally couldnt help himself from controlling his ipulse, you know how you wanna just kill someone when they hurt you, well, nothing in his brain told him not too!

so strange but ultimately so sad and even a little scary.
