At the clinic where I have a part time office, there is also a psychiatrist, osteopath, nutritionist etc
The clinic owner has gone through 3 different psych's in 2 yrs due to issues she's had with these psych's.
Well today, I'm there sitting with the ND who owns the clinic and some man comes flying into the room yelling in french to call 911, she's trying to kill herself.
We jump up, run in the back room and the psych is out cold on the floor. This old man (we had no idea who he was and assumed he was her client) was saying, she fainted.
I knew right then and there what was up, the ND was asking her if she was a diabetic etc. I pulled the ND out of the room and said "She's PLASTERED DRUNK".
Yep, woman was drunk, and was seeing clients all morning. This MUCH older man is her husband.
The ND didn't believe it (I've seen enough drunks to know one when I see one)so she kept asking her questions.
I said to her "how much did you drink today" she said two mickies (it was only 1 pm by this time) so I walked out of the room and let the ND take her pulse, blood pressure etc.
Then she went into a room with her for an hr.
Came out and said "well she just admitted to me she's been an addict for 30 yrs. Man every psych I get in here has some deep mental health issues"
Reminds me of a client who came to our clinic a yr ago. He is the head of psychiatry at the largest teaching hospital in my city and he asked if he could sit on the floor in an Indian sit, eat his crackers, pray first and take off his socks during the consult. He got up every 5 mins to wash his hands and pee.
He was at the clinic cause he said "No way I'm going to cure my pi polar with what I feed my patients"
Ekkkkk!
And these people TREAT others!
So anyway, she let this poor woman sober up, asked her to clean out her room and to not return. I walked the woman down the stairs and she was crying saying she was sorry and she was so humiliated.
I gave her all the contacts I have for rehabs and a name of a great addiction therapist and she left.
Most drama I've seen since the EF exodus! ;-)
