Why are my hamstrings always sore - HELP!

Whenever I do stiff-legged deadlifts, my hamstrings are excrutiatingly sore for nearly a week. At first I thought it was cool, because it was a new exercise, and it must be "working". Other exercises I've gotten really sore at first, but later on never get as sore, even though increasing weight/reps.

But my hams ALWAYS get sore, and more sore than any other muscle, even after 2 years. It doesn't matter if I go heavy or light. WHY?! Is this the way it's supposed to be? Anything different about hamstrings? (I am becoming afraid to sit on the toilet anymore! :bawling: )

BTW, when I do them, I don't even stretch all the way down since I'd go through the floor. (I'm very flexible.) I've seen people stand on a bench, but I'd probably fall off. Is it because I'm not going low enough (because I could go lower), or am I going too low (since I'm getting so sore)? I try to stretch hams several times a day but it doesn't help.

No need to stand on a bench or to even go deeper than mid/upper shin. Stretch as long as the movement is just that...a hamstring stretch. You neve bend over...your butt just goes back.

You ever do any sled dragging?

What about light active recovery?
