Whenever I do stiff-legged deadlifts, my hamstrings are excrutiatingly sore for nearly a week. At first I thought it was cool, because it was a new exercise, and it must be "working". Other exercises I've gotten really sore at first, but later on never get as sore, even though increasing weight/reps.
But my hams ALWAYS get sore, and more sore than any other muscle, even after 2 years. It doesn't matter if I go heavy or light. WHY?! Is this the way it's supposed to be? Anything different about hamstrings? (I am becoming afraid to sit on the toilet anymore! )
BTW, when I do them, I don't even stretch all the way down since I'd go through the floor. (I'm very flexible.) I've seen people stand on a bench, but I'd probably fall off. Is it because I'm not going low enough (because I could go lower), or am I going too low (since I'm getting so sore)? I try to stretch hams several times a day but it doesn't help.
