I would ride with you. However I would insist on carrying a more appropriate sword based on the old samurai techniques of swordmaking.........

Only if I was nobility and got to carry a sword, wear chainmail and ride a cool horse.

I'd likely be dead by the age of 25, either from war or disease, but that was the norm back then, I guess.

I'd guess 98% of the population were peasants during those times, and I don't think anyone would want to live in those conditions. Jeez, even the king didn't have running water or toilets. Imagine how everyone else lived.
