What the Fuck is grapefruit juice?

why are you curious as to the carbohydrate make up of grapfruit juice? or are youninterested in the naringenin that it contains ?(greater in whole fruit)

Well I am interested in the make up of grapefruit juice because...

My current cycle is test, fina (ya iceman, you are partially correct), and winny. My current diet is animalbolics.

I was just thinking that by substituting grapefruit juice for my fruit in meals 1,2, and pre workout (I currently use OJ, b/c I don't have much time to eat at my job) , I could kill 2 birds with one stone. 1) replenishing my liver with glycogen without causing an insulin spike (If GJ is fructose), and 2) making the winny more potent due to the naringenin.

I realize that its the white stuff in the grapefruit that mostly contains naringenin, but I figured it would still be of some benefit to use GJ instead of OJ.

carp out....

Is it the Naringin or is it the bergamottin??????

http://www.people.virginia.edu/~rjh9u/grfruit.html

Researchers at the University of Michigan and Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Research appear to have identified the compound in grapefruit juice, bergamottin, that seems to be responsible for inactivating cytochrome P450 3A4, the enzyme that metabolizes about 60% of all drugs ranging from antihistamines to blood pressure drugs. Bergamottin appears to cause irreversible changes in cytochrome P450 3A4 in the active site of the enzyme.

It is a mixture of several compounds, such as the above mentioned, along with quercetin. Earlier research had shown that quercetin was a major contributor to grapefruits ability to alter drug metabolism.
