I have never seen this before:

Get a curling bar (with a few small plates on it), and lie down on a bench with your back on it. Take the curling bar (with a close overhand grip) from your chest, around to the back of your head close to the floor and back up. Repeat.

My friend (who is a big motherfucker) showed me how to do this, so I tried a few sets a couple days ago and my tris are still in pain. I will definately include this into my chest/tri workout.

This sounds like a combination of pullovers and skullcrushers aka french press aka nosebreakers. Never heard of doing it behind your head though, and pullovers are usually done with DBs. I guess you could do skullcrushers starting from behind your head?

They would be. Mine are too when I do pullovers or straight arm pressdowns. My point is that the excercise he describes is not a skullcrusher.

I'm not sure the name, but I bet you felt it in your lats as well yes?

I felt a little from the lats..I think the lats is a secondary muscle worked in this. Primary being the full tri. Not isolated to the outside or inside. It's a great overall tri workout. Really destroys them.

No idea what it is called, but a big friend of mine showed it to me too. We actually used to do a triple set with skull crushers, followed by what you describde followed by close grip presses, all without resting. Give it a try, IT HURTS! When doing the exercise you descrive, we tried to sort of trace our faces with the bar, it requires VERY good control, and makes you keep your tri's EXTREMELY tight.

that's a good idea to help perfect form on this excersise. I still hit my head sometimes without a spotter on the last couple reps.

it's simply a variation of a pullover. you can do them with bars or dumbbells. the most popular version is both arms and one dumbbell (thanks to the man, ARNOLD :D).

he prob felt it in his tris 'cause you tris have to keep your arm extended throughout the movement and 'cause it's a different exercise that he was not used to.
