What do you wear? Gloves? Belt's? etc?

I don't use any of it anymore. I used to wear a belt and gloves throughout my workout but not at all anymore. If I go real heavy on deads or squats I'll throw on a belt for a few reps but that's it.
I did hurt my elbow so I wear a elbow wrap during heavy curl and back exercises, but that's it. Do any of you wear equipment for regular lifting or only for maxing. I'm going for 290 or 295 on bench tonight which will be a PR. I'd like to use my buddies gloves for the max lift maybe give me a bit of an edge with a better grip. Should I do that or stay natural?

I have never used gloves. I have used a belt in the past but not really much anymore. My hands are getting wrecked when doing deads though, so I might need gloves for dat. I will be using chalk first to see how that does!!!

Oh, and I hate straps!!!

Cobra, good luck later man!!!

I'm not a fan of callouses...but i'm getting them anyway underneath the gloves. I just don't like bleeding on the bars. Stay natural if you can.

Callouses are amazing!
Picking them is all I do in my math class

a belt for heavy deads and squats....I might be weening myself off of it for the squats though....

deads, I wear it because for some reason I am paranoid I am gonna blow my intestine threw my abdominal wall....a friend of mine had 2 hernia ops....but he doesn't do deads anyway....mental thing I guess.

and I wrap my bad knee for squats and deads.

I might have to start using straps for deads as well.....because I am losing gripping ability as the weight goes up.

I wear whatever they allow in a contest...

I've also been training my events with knee sleeves and double layered belts...and my back feels so much better.

Nothing, tho I'll probably start using a belt for squats (my back's still f-ed up from the last time I did em over a month ago)

No belts, no straps, no gloves, ever.
Elbow sleeves always and neoprene knee wraps occasionally.

I would only wear a belt or straps if it was allowed in a contest or a comp.

A belt on heavy deads and heavy squats, but that is it. I think my back is all fucked up but I havent been to the doctor yet.

Yeah, I saw your vid of trying to get under the bar with your suit on B, that was pretty funny.:D

I took my gloves off for a few sets today and found that I was stronger without them. I figured out why...

They are quite padded and effectively thicken the bar, making a difference in the ease of the lift... a rather small one, but a difference nonetheless...
