don't beat yourself up over it bro... go beat someone ELSE up over it. :destroy: ;) J/K...

It happens to the best, bro. When you're trying to walk such a fine line with your body for SO long pre-competition (and even in competition), sometimes shit happens. What makes you a champion competitor isn't how you did last time, it's what you do better next time. Sounds like you're golden next time around.

-M
Thanks bro. I am not a quiter for sure. In the immortal word of Phil Anselmo from Pantera's New Level "NEVER FUCKING SURRENDER!..CAN'T LOSE!...NEVER FUCKING SURRENDER!

Sorry Bro. Your situation sounds like stories the Dave Palumbo relates at his seminars, which competitors are prone to let happen. It's called "I can't leave well enough alone" syndrome.

Good luck next time...

I hate to even say...I hate to give advice given what just happened to me. Hmmmmm. I just did 2 25mg doses and look what happened. I was dry already so that may have been what happened. I am thinking if you are holding lots of water start at 25mg and take it from there at 25mg at a pop going by the mirror.

thanks bro, I'll play it safe, I'd rather come in with a little extra h2o then really flat

Tough break bro. But don't get bummed. Next time just realize that even if you aren't 100% you'll still beat the competititon.

That's the problem with carb loading, sodium loading/restrition and dehydration. In a effort to look really sharp the day of the show, you're taking a big chance of it backfiring. You just never know. You can cut water and look dry - or flat. You can carb up and look full -- or smooth. Even the top pros in the world guess wrong.

When I did the NPC, I placed 5th but I can honestly should have come in second...IF, the decision was made at the night show. The problem is, at the pre-judge I was too dehydrated and four other guys looked better. After that, I didn't give a fuck, drank a gallon of water and ate a normal meal and looked the best I'd looked in weeks -- after it didn't count. :bawling:

Anyway, congrats on the placing and good luck at the next one.

Quad thanks for keeping us posted. Many people had low placings (chicerillo, artwood, Jimmy Canyon, kamali, duvall, dragna, kris Dim, johnie jackson, robert lopez) at one time or another. in the ameteur ranks ofcourse.
good luck the next time around, keep your head up. Have a good 03-04 season.

Sorry, to hear that man! I was pulling for ya too. I should've been in the middle weight class at this show myself, but was sick all week I think from being ran down from dieting, training, and prepping for so long. Did a show in Detroit last weekend and also looked great Friday night, but by weigh in Saturday morning I totally lost it. Same kinda story and very hard to deal with and depressing after being so sharp and putting so much time and effort into something. Almost wasn't going to do the Ohio just because of results of Detroit show (4th in MW class out of ten competitors - should have been at least 2nd). But, having flu like symptoms and a serious headache and head cold all week pretty much finalized my decision. Still wanted to get up to the show and at least check it out and pull for you, but there was the biggest traffic jam on I-71 (fatal crash I believe -THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. MAKES YOU KINDA THINK ABOUT THINGS IN THE BIG PICTURE. SOMEONE MAY BE OUT OF A MOTHER, FATHER, SON, DAUGTHER, OR WHOLE FAMILY NOW) and my fiance and I sat at a standstill for more than hour before I decided we would never make it on time so we just headed back home and grabbed some dinner and a movie. Get some pics up if you can bro, and keep your head up. We all know what you're capable of doing, and I know you'll get it done next time!

This shit alwats happens to a good guy...but you will never make that mistake again so look at it on the bright side YOU WILL QUALIFY for the nationals your next show and you will not make that mistake in the big show so you are that much closer...better that it happened now then at a bigger show...thanks for the update we were all wondering...so you goofed and still kicked some ass!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the knowledge you bring to the board plex1500
