Weird thing Coleman said...

In an article i read by Ronnie Coleman, he states that he loads the bar up with weight that he could only possibly get 8, but he doesnt stop til he gets 12. He says he finds a way. Sounds weird to me, but maybe someone else can explain how this works to me lol. I know when my muscles tire to the point of failure during an exercise, there is no way in hell to push them out for 4 more reps without a ton of cheating.

Rest pause reps? Does that mean reracking the weight, then pickin it up and bangin out a couple more, or holding it in the starting position and then bangin out a few more? Would this be directed toward seperation, hypertrophy, or definition?

yes...usuall it means sitting it down but keeping hands on the bar

An 8 rep set to me means that 12 is not possible nor is it necessary.

Did you know that on a bottle of shampoo it says..."wet hair, lather, rinse, repeat as necessary"? You know that there is just some guy still in the shower...repeating... There comes a time when you need to put the shampoo bottle down and try again tomorrow...

Just a thought...

Yeah...I do a set or two every so often. I did them most recently on inclines with 225 I think. I did 10 or so then racked it for about 5 seconds...and only got 1 more after resting. I just feel that when I get that tired, the rest only allows for my shoulders to take up the slack...

Let me try again...seems as if my form really breaks down when I do them. If I am exhausted after 10 reps...I can't do 11 for a reason...I am exhausted. Something must suffer if I try to get another.

I am not saying that they can not be beneficial...but that they can also be very dangerous if they are not done intelligently.

ggood.

If I can o an 6 rep set...I'll do four and then rest and then a rep, then rest...I can usually extend two reps on an 6 rep set....I think they are most beneficial
for strength

corn.. on the whole TUT theory, how would you explain superslow with this? it would seem that superslow would be the equivalent of several sets, which obviously it isn't.
