Hey guys...this question has been baffling me for a while now but now I really need the answer lol,
Mon I start the Palumbo diet and my cals are Really going to count so I'm wondering do I weigh fish and meat before or after cooking in order to do a diet that involves weights?

you always weight after you cook... it will always weigh less after you cook and that is what you are actually consuming so do the weighing after!

I always weigh before it's more accurate , it's easier to get protien values on raw products as relative moisture is taken Into account , and different cooking methods change the moisture content drastically.

when you go to a store or restaurant the nutritional values are based on the raw, uncooked product 99% of the time. I spent some time in the army and I did work as a cook for 8 months and ALL Their nutritional values are based on raw product.

Yes mesure it before u cook it. After u cook it wil depend on how log u cook it. How much water/oil etc u add. All nut tables are from raw food. Mesured the way its packed.
If u buy 400g of beef. Its still 400 gram after u cook it but the excess water etc wil be gone so it now maybe only weight 360 grams. But its still the same nut that the label say

Agreed Dylan it's not the weight it is after it is cooked and there in lies the problem , different cooking methods give different weights after it cooked , most nutritional values is therefor based on raw weights , as it's a constant weigh of measuring and cooking time or method will not effect the outcome of the nutritional content (talking protien not possible added fats etc)

Good luck with the diet and remember to wait 2 weeks before incorporating the carb meal.
As for the weighing do it before there won't be much of a difference in weight after it's cooked. You'll be fine.
