I have been pretty avid into CrossFitting/ Coaching CrossFit for the past 5 years and am strong however I would like to venture into doing a fitness and or Figure competition ( Always looking for a new Challenge

) so what are the best sites/ tips for getting started in including more specialized lifting routine? I am so used to doing full body training almost every day I am not sure were to start with isolated muscle training. I still want to CrossFit 2/3 times a week and do strength training for competition 2/3 times a week.

I eat paleo for the most part so nutrition isn't too much of an issue however I am a sponge for learining new techniques and regimes! ....I know cleaning out the "for the most part" to all the time will help with cutting down body fat%.

Advice is greatly welcomed!!

Fitness and figure are different....getting started really depends on what your timeline is and what your current body composition is. If you need to build a lot of muscle to be competitive, you likely will need to train longer, eat differently etc...

So...do you have a show date in mind?

I don't yet IM in the research phase now (which I need to do a lot)...I want to give my self a good 6 months to prepare is that adequate? IM pretty strong have good definition in my arms and back need to get the mid section more trim. I have nice lines but no visible 6 pack. In the next two weeks IM going to get all my measurements and BF%. I just decided to compete not that long ago I've always been into modeling (although i haven't done it for years )and fitness... now I would like to combine them. Thought forums would be a good start there is a lot of info out there on getting started and IM bit sure which is the best to look at.

I'd continue researching...look at winners in each class and see which one appeals to you/would best fit you and your body...then I'd get a consultation from a coach

Time it takes to be stage ready depends on your current conditioning like Roxy said...BUT just ask a competitor, we never stop perfecting. :) it's a never-ending thing really..
