I was into the bigger screens before but now I'd go for a smaller one. It really becomes a drag carrying a heavy laptop with you, not to mention the books, every day to class. Besides, it's not like I'm going to do any graphics editing or play video games on it, it's just for school documents and internet.

If you are actually going to carry it around go for the lighter weight.

Dell 700M Laptop :)

I got the small one which I guess is what you would've recommended. I also got a $600 off coupon so I got it for $1,000 instead of $1,600!

It shipped today, I'm stoked.

Yeah I have to put it in and out of my backpack between every class so got smaller one

cool

the first laptop I got, I wanted a big screen becasue bigger seemed better, so I went 17". Big mistake! I used to use one of those messenger bag type of things and it would pull on my shoulder like a mofo, specially whne there were like 2-3 thick text books in there at the same time. It was still a problem once I went to a backpack. I went with a 15" like a year later, which i still have, but that is still kind of heavy to carry around all the time. I stoped bringing it to work.
