Training results

I am currently training for the Maine state championships (APF), This will be my first meet since I tore my tricep tendon a year and a half ago. I am currently benching 405 for 2 sets of 8, I squatted 715 for 3 raw last week, and I pulled 635 for 7. I still have 16 weeks to go, I will really turn up the volume after thanksgiving. I will throw on equipment after the first of the year. I should very easily total over 2000 at 308lbs, I am thinking of doing it raw (maybe), still up in the air for my first meet back.

Nice numbers. no need to lift it raw dude, you're showing balls enough by just coming back from a triceps tendon tear. In any case though, good luck.

Yesterday, I did some reps on the bench and hit 315 for 20 reps, and today I deadlifted 675 for 5 reps. I will update this as time goes on with my progression. (All my lifts in training are only done with a belt and maybe knee wraps on the squat).

are you...

the same guy who retore his tricep in a fight? maybe im getting you confused with strongerthanall....

someone asked this before, but WHY are you doing all this raw stuff? is your goal to go to APF Nationals or the WPO eventually? If so, you really should be using gear in meets. 2000@308 is not gonna cut it at the Nats. But if you are doing that raw, with some training you could be hitting 2200, which would make you more competitive.

Best of luck.

You gotta use gear man, it will help out tremendously, Irish that was strongerthanall btw, and thanks for the support before the meet everyone.

I am competing in the APF because it is the only organization that is really active up here in maine. I am gong to do it raw for my first meet back just to see where I am without the equipment. Then I eventually I will see where I will go. I first tore my tendon in a meet not because lifting raw, but getting too strong too quickly and not preparing for the meet. Thanks for the advice.

On thursday, Nov 21st, I had a heavy squat workout and I did a 765 with knee wraps and belt, it went up really easy. I am going to hit some benches tomorrow and try for 365 for 20 reps. I am doing all the reps on the bench because of the tricep tendon tear and the 3 surgeries that followed. And my body weight is up a little, I am weighing a pretty solid 315. My plans are to compete at the Maine APF State Championships in March to see where I am at and use it as a solid base. Then I will do the push -pull meet in August and go in the 275 weight class, then do the pine tree open next november at 308 and use the equipment that everyone is using today. Then go superheaveyweight the following March and put up a really big total.

Yeterday, I benched 405 for 2 sets of 8, and today I did rounded back rack deadlifts from 6 inches below the bar on the bottom pin in the power rack and pulled 855 with straps. I was motivated by my friends CD -drop kick murphys. Training is going really good for my meet.
