someone metioned in an earlier post that the most protein your liver can absorb in one meal is 30g? is this true?

ive read from a proffesional who says there is no limit. but my friends sister who is doing biology or something at college says 30g is the limit also. whats the truth.

im on about 50g per meal is this going to waste?

Mavy made a very good post on this.

But basically to answer your question, there are many many variables that will determine how much body your protien uses, but there is no set amount of just how much the body can use in one sitting.

Exactly. Thats like asking a generic question such as "How many carbs should I eat a day?" There are too many variables that would affect the answer, it varies considerably from person to person.

That being said, taking in your entire days worth of protein in 1 sitting isn't a good idea if you are taking in 1g per lb or more.....spread it out over the day so that your body gets a constant nitrogen balance.

1]There is a limit

2] We (nobody) don't know for sure what is the limit

3] 30g is certainly not the limit for a lifter

Well, the bigger question is whether or not excessive protein consumption for an extended period of time is harmful. Nothing seems point that way (at least not solidly) so I say eat up.
