The legs press vs squats

I had a knee ligament injury and went through surgery, I need to do physical activity including light exercise
for faster recovery, I was thinking between leg press and squats which exercise would help the most and has the less
risk of getting injured again, thanks pros.

If you have a knee ligament injury, I would focus on rehabilitation exercises and functional movements like bodyweight squats, bench step ups, light walking lunges etc.

If you are recovering from an injury, you aren't ready for machines yet. You need to get functional before you can start adding weight to the movements

I am not a big leg press fan. I see guys over and over load it up and think they are impressing someone. Squats are the true test of legs in my opinion. In your case though, take it slow and light. Do not risk further injury. Make sure you are fully healed.
