Sushi or Sashimi

Hey everyone, my diet is very strict right now.....but I'm wondering if I can bend it a bit. I'm eating way to much chicken!
Is Sashimi or Sushi okay? Making sure theres no "mayo" in sight!
Suggestions? :rainbow:

i see no problem with sashimi every once in a while.....

and if you get sushi make sure they make it with brown rice...sans mayo and cream cheese and whatever else they put in there

If it's within an hour or so of your workout sushi would be fine. Otherwise, I would go with sashimi, which I prefer anyway.

^^^Chirashi is a good occasional alternative to sushi is you want sashimi and rice but no creamy fatty sort of sauces (there is sugar - modest amount but there nonetheless).

if you live in the US, sushi isn't a good idea for cutting, unless you live in California and even then it may be iffy. if you've never had authentic sushi then there's really no way of telling if your crab meat is real or fake. a lot of places add fake crab meat to cut costs, among other things.

sushi in general is rather expensive so a general rule of thumb is if you're dining at a place that seems cheap then there's a reason for it being so cheap.

sashimi is fine wherever you are.

Sashimi. W/ Japanese food, rice is the enemy unless its brown rice, no other stuff in it and its on your diet to carb up.

I try to stay away from all shell fish and raw foods that can hamper training. Sushi gives me the runs, but I am from IL, went to San Diego, tried sushi, like 6 diff types, tuna and eel and stuff that looked like cow's tongue, gave me the shits for 24 hours straight, i was so dehydrated I couldn't walk, almost had to go to the ER, finally got down pretzels and gatorade....
