Questions about Bands for Benching

You never know how much tension that the bands add...

You will know a few things regardless though...

1) It is hard(er)
2) You must move fast to get the weight
3) They are fun to use
4) They make every exercise so that it has about 20 variations
5) For less than $160 you can have an entire set and do all kinds of fun things

That 135 + 2 sets of doubled lights...sucked. Any idea what it felt like at the top? I truly can't figure it out. I turned off my math phase after I finished the class...lol.

CCJ...I'd LOVE for you to write a small article about how you use them in your training since it is so different from mine. Seriously...it would be a 'MUST READ' for myself and others wishing to learn.

The way I use bands isn't that much different from what you guys use em for. Just slightly different in flavour :)

CoolColJ: Thanks sooo much for those pics.... i've been trying to think of how to sort out the bigger bands.... i've been double choking them on the dumbells at my gym, but they only go up to 45kg, and it's almost getting to the point where i'm lifting them off the floor when squatting.
 
dumb question but the mini's will add 25 lb to bench each for a total of 50 with two. Or just 25 lb total?
 
The best way I've found to use the bands is with a 6 inch piece of copper tubing and plates. You put the band through the hole on the plate, then slide the copper tubing through the loop. Or, after sliding the band through the hole, use a 5lb plate the same way.

DB's are never heavy enough when using combos like blue and green bands.

The copper tubing helps the band from becoming frayed from rubbing. It sucks when a band snaps. Its all fun and games, until someone loses and eye.
