i know this is not the right forum for this but i figured i'd get more responses here :)

i recently went on anti anxiety medication not too long ago. i have tons of things going on in my life...work wedding etc...that's just stressing me the fawk out. i wanted to know if there are any supps or herbs or vitamins that i should not be taking on my current medication. i'm taking zxyprexa....after reading up on it it's a little scary as most people with schizophrenia take it. but it helps with anxiety, racing thoughts, sleep issues....and that's the main reason i'm on it. any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

supps i have been holding out on since taking it are as follows:

no explode or trac
gluc
cardiobreeze

i'm sure they are fine to take but i just wanted to make sure there are no drug interactions

Do you consider these mild anxiety issues you are dealing with? Do you know the reasoning behind your doctor prescribing zxyprene?

From what I have read briefly, zxyprexe acts on the CNS (I believe it also lowers blood pressure) - hence I would just be cautious while consuming stimulants (i.e., caffeine, etc.,) as it may be counter-productive.

yes they are mild...i'm at below normal doage at 5mg...usually it is 10-20. the reason why the doc prescribed zyprexa is b/c of my mind racing and obsessive thoughts causing my anxiety.....i have read that stims can have an adverse effect and make the meds not work. but i drink coffee and that has not been the case. the only the thing the doc said not to do was drink....

I see. I think you should be fine then. Although take what I say with a grain of salt (as I'm no doctor). I would think that the only real contraindications with zyprexa would be other medications - anything you might find in a sport supplement ought not interfere with it (other than the stimulants, which seems not to bother you).

The reason I asked in the first place is because it sounds like a heavy duty anti-depressant, when a milder sedative might do the trick (e.g., lorazepam) - but if the dosage is low perhaps it will work well for you. I only bring it up because of my own personal nightmare with anti-depressants.

Try to stay aware of your moods and make note of any abnormal feelings of lethargy, etc., as I know that these meds can wreak havoc in some people. As long as you remain self-aware you should be fine.

thx for the input bro...yeah i'm being mindful of mood swings and things like that...so far so good. i just wanted to make sure i don;t have a seizure or some crazy shit like that before i started taking my supps again.

anyone else with any input?
