When people say that walking is good for burning fat, do they mean normal walking (like a stroll through the park or a walk around the country-side) or do they mean power walking?

I've noticed that when I walk to class (about 30 min each way, 4x per week) I get a lot leaner! I walk moderately fast in (I keep it down so I don't sweat) and as fast as I can walk with a backpack on on my way home.
