Question about muscle recovery

I work days and around the weekend I sometimes, almost every weekend that is, I work nights, 12am-8am, and when I get home, I sleep till 3-4-5pm, does that screw up muscle recovery somewhat?, I drink my shakes every 3 hours with water when I do shifts like this, then when I get home I take a vitamin, drink lots of water and go to bed. but I still get my sleep in.

also I should note, I dont go to sleep till 3-4 in the mournings every day anyway .... yet I still get in 7-8 hours sleep.

So do you think as long as I get my sleep, Im ok?

Yes as long as those 7-8 hrs are deep REM sleep this is where your muscle repair will occur If your biological clock has somehow adjusted to fit your work schedule and you can sleep soundly then fine.

I dont understand sleep that much, but i have heard lots of people say that an hour before Midnight it more effective than an hour of sleep after midnight. Many people i have talked to about sleep suggest trying to get as much sleep before 12AM as possible. Don't know why this is important. Something to do with the sarcadian rhythm [spelling is probably waaaay off on that]
