are they suitable for a cutting diet...ima not talking about every meal but when i'm in a rush and need some sustinance are they ok. is slimfast any good?

the reason i ask is im very wary of the sugars in them, are they simple? and do they have good fats/protein?

sorry to ask but every time i type in cutting 4 search i get cycles galore and i dont juice :(

and just one other thing, i ate like the better part of a chicken and im reallly hungry :) is this due to the carbs being reduced? iot seems a pain to have to eat all my carbs before 3 and get enough fibre for the day :( ....they say psyllium shouldnt be used long term but thgey dont cite medical reasons :(

any help would be much appreciated. if i missed it in the archives (ive just checked what people eat and it seems to be lots of protein, not much carbs and a fair amount of fat) just say

thanks

the best mrp is met-rx pure protein vanilla butter cream flavor-it is low in carbs and tastes great-the calories and grams of carbs and protein you need depend on your weight.

Met-rx protein plus is not a meal replacement it is simply a protein powder blend. Slim fast is awful - it is mostly sugar without any signifigant protein. As far as meal replacements go most of them use maltodextrin as their source of carbohydrates so even if they seem low sugar they are still very high on the glycemic and insulin indexs. If you must use them on a cutting diet so be it but realize you woulr be better off with whole foods.

carbs that cause insulin spikes are good for after workouts or when your blood sugar is low. For the rest of the time you should probably be eating complex carbs that don't cause insulin overdoses.

gotcha :)

i had a feeling they would stick high GI carbs in :(

ive been eating complex carbs in the form of pasta and multigrain breads for my bulking..
now im cutting im unsure as to what carbs are 'ok' :(

With the bran cereals, you really have to read the labels carefully. Some of them only count the non-fiber carb calories, others count all of them in the total calorie count. So if you "erase" the fiber calories from your daily carb calorie count, your may or may not be underestimating your intake. Just make sure to look at total carbs, fiber, and total calories and do the math.
