HMB
I don't know why you guys are so down on HMB, its a bona fide ergogenic aid.
If you are cutting up using winny, dnp and clen, don't waste your money, but if you aren't, its great.
The key is you have to use it correctly, it really works only when dieting, and it has to be taken on a full stomach. Take about 1/3 to 1/2 before you workout, and it REALLY works if you use it in a low carb environment, which I think almost everyone here would do.
Stay away from the ultimate nutrition brand, they don't use the patent pending process. Their HMB (750 mg / pill) is CHEAP ($12 @ dpsnutrition.com) but its a rip off. If you wanna give it a try, you can get a months supply (120 ct 750 mg / pill) from eclipse brand at dpsnutrition.com for $35. Thats the cheapest, most reliable brand there is.
(for a real punch, stay on creatine when dieting and using it, some evidence indicates you MAY NOT need to keep your carbs up on a maintenance level with creatine for dieting, a Virginia Tech study just showed that creatine can help diminish dieting-related strength loss too)
If its not working for you, maybe its because you used it wrong in the past, or maybe it just doesn't work for you. period.
Don't expect miracles from it, but it might save you a lb or two of lean mass if you are trying to cut way down for a show and need to be clean.
