Punch needs input from the Heavy Hitters RE/BENCH

I actually do raw benching too punch, I am still not a firm believer that Westside works FOR ME. Instead of doing regular inclines after your bench try doing closegrip inclines instead, I do this and it helps the bench a lot IMO.

Hey Bodysnatcher and allmof you have shared your methods, THANKS. I never would have thought that doing singles would increase my strength in the least. It took a lot to get to the 5 rep level because my brain was so engraved w/ the classic 8-10 rep scheme.

It makes sense that as for concentration 1 rep is easier to psych yourself up for than 5-10. I was always under the impression however that movements such as flyes/ inclines and wieghted dips play a role in strengthening stabalizer muscles indirectly used in benching. Maybe I put too much emphasis on that.

Its funny that the only time I ever cared about my bench wieght was in high school for football. During my early and late 20's it was all about getting defined and sculpted all over. Now at 32 years old I seem to be obsessed w/ getting my bench to the 400lb mark. For a non powerlifter I thought 350lb was ok, but when I here some of the wieght you guys are throwing around I just had to go for a bench in the 400 area.

Genetically, I think I have it, technique and know how is something totally different. If any of you could give me an actuall schedule for benching it would help a lot. I told you the wieght I am doing in the above thread. I appreciate your help and hope to contribute my own knowledge in the future. God Bless
