Potassium sodium and water tricks??????????????

I have read there are ways to munipulate your body with potasium sodium and water tricks, as they do for bodybuilding compititions. Would anybody be kind enough to explain how to do these for me? How long would they take? Would it hurt if i tried them out now, like a practice run, if i plan on competing in the future?

its usually done in a 3 day each fashion.

3 days sodium loading or eating foods higher in sodium. followed by 3 days (prior to show) of very low sodium intake and supplemented potassium intake. i used the 99mg tabs and took 5 a day while maintaining my sodium intake down around 800-1000mg. it still kept my sodium:potassium intake at 2:1 which is acceptable. couple that with a carb depletion and load and you are asking for alot of water to be drawn into the muscle. the last day before the show you cut your water off at 5-6pm until the morning and sip water as needed. it will dry you out alot. i was taking some mild diuretics so i could drink a little more water but as the day went on i got dryer and tighter. i know now that i should have dropped the water off earlier, and maybe just went to sleep. mouth was getting dry at night.

its semi safe to do, but here is the catch. if you go back to eating fairly normal after the potassium load, your sodium levels rise rapidly and you hold water. you look sharp for the show but the definition wanes quickly after you eat normal again.

hope that helps.
