Post-Contest questions...

Well, my competition was this past weekend. I won my weight class and narrowly lost the overall. There were several people that felt I should have won the overall (and some of them were even strangers!). I didn't really see it, however, and was very happy with the outcome.

I have heard over and over that the 2 to 4 weeks after a contest are the most anabolic time that a bodybnuilder can have. I ate my ass off Sat night and Sunday and went back to eating clean on Monday. I just don't want to fall into the trap of destroying ALL of my hard work in the course of a week. I destroyed enough of it in a day and a half!

As far a s taking adevantage of this post-contest anabolic environment, what wouyld you bros recommend as far as training? Do I jump right back into balls-out training, or what?

I have had a couple days off from the gym and am itching to get back to training...so any input will be appreciated!

BTW, I hope that this is in the correct forum!

If you're dying to train go for it! If not it's ok to take a week or more off and rehab. Your body is going to definitely be anabolic for awhile even w/o gear. You are also making a very smart decision for getting back on a clean diet. Probably one of the hardest but best decisions you will ever make. I wish I would have done so myself, because although you are very anabolic your body puts on water and fat weight like you wouldn't believe. Within about 2 weeks after my last show I looked worse than I did before I even started my 12 week out precontest diet. Throw down the clean food with as much as possible. Don't limit yourself like you did precontest. Eat right, but eat till your full. Crush the protein, glutamine, and creatine also. You should do very well. Enjoy!

I was back in the gym on the tues, but my body was so out of whack that I had trouble benching 225 for reps(I was doing 315 for reps the week before the show). What I did was drop all the weights back, and go the progressive resistance route, meaning I stuck to the same set/rep scheme but added a few lbs every week. This is now 6 weeks out, my strength levels are nuts, and I am the biggest I've ever been. I did bridge with a small amount of var, and started my next cycle 2 weeks ago

The only thing that I have going right now is my HCG. I have gone to a clean diet, but with pretty high calories. I am eating eggs, chicken, brown rice, protein powder and oatmeal...my typical meal is about 50 g protein and 100 g carbs. The other difference between this and my pre-contest diet is that i am eating carbs all day long...2 cups of oatmeal right before bed is probably not the best idea, but it's better than the pizza that my other post-competitive friends are eating!

What do you guys think?
