I recently got 470 wearing an Inzer double extra heavy duty...I have heard that denim is the best...All of Louies guys are using triple denims...I am 6'2" and weigh appx. 250 and I have long arms...Will a denim get me over the 500 hump?
 
Yes a 2x denim will get you over 500. And LOuie and his boys wear 2x denim not triple. At least i know they (george , kenny) didnt wear triple at the bench bash for cash cause they (kieran) inspected everyones shit. triple ply is not allowed anywear. So dont get one. Get double. I say a double will get you over 500 and it should but i actually cant tell ya what a good poly will give ya. And you must have strong tris cause the denim quits working completely after 4 to 6 inches off the chest. BUt what a rebound effect inside the 6 inches!
 
You know i learned more this weekend about my shirt then half my meets before. One ting for sure is and i aint just sayin it denim is awsome...but its dangerous too.

What do you mean by the denim being dangerous? Are you referring to when the shirt blows out? or something else?

And to the thread starter, I personally get so much more out of a denim than a poly that I would not be interested in wearing poly ever again.

Jay knows more about denim than anyone here.

I have just noticed that when the bar hits its stopping point wether or not the bar goes forward a bit or i have noticed that whenits tough to get down i roll my elbows back a bit to shorten the stroke. Either way nothing stops the shirt from falling to ward you rhead. A non open back denim its hard to lift your arms up at all. OPen back will hurt you if you fall out of groove at all. Either your arms out of groove or the bar. When it comes up and over (and that is exactly how i hurt my shoulder in daytona) you stress the rotator badly. So here is a tip and it works i did this weekend.

When you feel the bar fall out of groove and you have other attempts

ABORT THE LIFT AT THE BOTTOM.

Period plain and simple. If it fall on your stomach but you still have complete hold on the bar dont even try it, your out of the element. Save for your next.
 
Thanks for the advice...I will see everyone in Pittsburgh on April 6 and show what a 43 year old ex-bodybuilder can do with a denim shirt...Look out 500...yeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...
 
Hey Koolio, actually i took 4th. IN PLUSA it just reads from left to right. 562 was my opener and i hurt my shoulder on attempt 1 got it on 2 but had nothing left in th eold shoulder for 3. But thanks bro!
