If everyone wasn't so selfish and worked together so much more would get done and people would have more. People lack inspiration and desire and are so caught up in themselves. Most are just lazy with either ridiculous get rich quick schemes and/or they trust no one. The people who trust no one have trouble grasping a team concept because you do have to at times rely on other people for a team to work. My newest work endeavor is promoting and booking house music DJ's. And even though I am now throwing and promoting multiple parties and gaining more experience and slowly making more money I see how much better I could do if I had people with better attitudes. As a leader it is my job to inspire these people to get to where I want to go. This is an arduous task that takes a ton patience and really getting to know people in my mind. I hear so much about people ripping each other off in this industry (House music/clubbing) and how I shouldn't work with certain people etc..
But at the same time people come to me with work propositions because they trust me. It makes me think of the saying "nice guys finish last" It is more like the nice guys who don't have good business sense and control of their emotions that finish last.
This is just a rant of mine as there were no good Glad threads to troll through lately. I have a party in Manhattan I am promoting
the 21st, a party in Brooklyn the 28th, and I throw local ones here on LI as well. I am enjoying this kind of work, but I am learning on daily basis for sure. I already had to fire one of my DJ's because he was being a D-bag. Now he has trouble getting any gigs at all, lol. I honestly hate when my threads like this become chirp threads so say something whether positive or negative.
