New to Elite Fitness

I first wanted to say Hello! :) I am new to elite fitness and am glad to have found this site and the discussion boards. I filled out my profile information when I signed up, but, in a nut shell, I am counting down to compete in a November show (figure). This will be my second competition. I would like to know if anyone has suggestions on creative diet meals. I know that is kind of like an oxymoron, but, I am pretty limited on what I can eat and I am trying to stay as motivated as possible. Right now I eat brown rice, chicken, turkey, egg whites, fish, vegetables, protein shakes..etc. All in the name of keeping the carbs at bay or around 60 carbs a day. Anyone have any advice? I would appreciate any input.

Again, I am glad to be on board. (no pun intended)

Welcome! You might find some good ideas in some tof the stickies on the top of this board. Especially the recipe one ... ! Good luck and post often!

Hey girl! Welcome to EF!

Congrats on your next competition! I'm up for one in Sept myself. So no room for anything fun food-wise right now -- its all just "fuel" at this point.

you should check out the different mrs. dashs.... there is no calories no sodium only a little bit of potassium... there are a ton of different flavours so this can help out the boring chicken...

I have to thank bunny for this enlightenment!!!!

Welcome to EF !

Best of luck with your comp!

What have you done before while dieting down for your competition? Do you have a training Program you usually follow? A trainer?
Maybe we can we a little more specific with creative suggestions if we have some idea of how your diet is structured at 9-10 weeks out (I think)….

All the best :rose:

I keep it real simple -- paprika can go on chicken & fish, pepper on steak. I use white pepper and that makes me think I'm a gourmet chef....

Thank you! I am currently drinking Nitro-pro Protein drink (2 servings), I eat, oatmeal, egg whites, chicken, fish and brown rice. I will cut out the brown rice three weeks prior to competition. Oh, and I am trying to get down a gallon of water a day. I do have a trainer and am on a new training regimen for this competition. Since I have only competed one time I know I have a lot of room for improvement....especially in the posing department. It is one thing to pose in front of a mirror and another when you are looking at your front door. ;)

I am going to try the Mrs. Dash recipes item and white pepper to doctor up the chicken. I know I cannot get to creative with the recipes because there isn't much room for creativity without adding carbs, sodium..you know the rest.

Also, I need to plan my meals ahead of time as much as possible. I am a new mother to a three month old. For me this competition coming up is like my first, because my diet and training is new and well, you know the rest. With my new little guy, I want to have quality time with him, so I try to plan meals..etc, ahead of time so I don't have to spend much time each day wondering what in the heck I am going to eat.

I really and truly appreciate getting this great feedback from everyone, it is awesome to be a part of this site! :friends:

Thank you! What competition will you be in in September? There is a gal from my gym that will be in one in September as well.

Good luck to you too!
