New here

ok, no leg extensions. May I ask a question? The comment was made to not use Anavar unless my protein intake was better. Why is this? It's tough enough being 50 lest alone having to fighting all the other natural declines we go through...I really want to get this handled before I get REALLY old! :qt:

If you use any AAS without having your diet dialed in (exactly) you are basically throwing your money away and putting needless stress on your internal organs.
I fully agree that you really should look to your diet. And I fully agree with Trex.
For the best results that are fully attainable at our age with AAS, get your diet squared away first.
If you want guidance with that PM RADAR or Rotten Willow on here.
Your in tremendous shape right now and believe it or not you can still improve on that with the proper diet, workout and supplements.
Also for women Peptides can be extremely beneficial and Rotten Willow can give you loads of help there also, plus they are more healthy then AAS for the most part.

I appreciate the candidness, I truly do. My biggest fear and it is the age old woman's fear is increasing weight. I realize muscle is weight, etc but my preference is to be at around 106lbs and very toned. I am stubborn that way.

With regard to the peptides, I read some on it but not in totality. Injectables is something I rather veer from vs oral form. I will get with Radar and Willow about dome diet issues.

Something else for you chika.
Consider your thinking. Its not weight that you should be conserned about but rather fat.
Think this way, 106 Lbs at ohhh say 10% bf. Now that would look pretty dam nice, right?
But 106 lbs at something like 28% bf isnt gonna look quite as yummy is it?
So what is your lesson here? you tell me.
SERIOUSLY...plz.

Welcome to EF! :)

I just thought I'd add a couple things to the discussion for your consideration. I would first look at what you are hoping var will accomplish. It is not a fat burner but rather a method to build muscle. It would potentially change your bodyfat percentage ratio or you may build muscle in that region but you may or may not actually lose that stubborn fat. Var would be the best choice (imo) for a first cycle for a woman but it may not bring you the results you are seeking.

In terms of diet, the protein would be essential in running a cycle as it's the much needed ingredient for muscle building. No matter which diet method you use (keto, carb cycling etc) protein intake is usually at least 40% of the daily totals. I would agree with the others that 500-800 calories is very low, even factoring in age, and I would give some consideration to trying a gradual increase for a period of time. Even trying to get 1000-1200 for a couple of weeks. I think that would get your body and metabolism going again. It'll be hard to do but I think getting your overall intake up will make a difference in the long term fat loss, which is sometimes hard to wrap your head around. There's a book called the Stubborn Fat Solution by Lyle Macdonald that talks about different ways to tackle the stubborn fat issue. He has a website too with info on it.

The other thing to think about with starting a cycle is the impact it may have on your hormones. I'm a few years younger but not too much and have the ongoing peri menopause things. I have done a few cycles and I actually feel better on cycle but it's a real challenge coming off. The hormones crash and it takes me a long time to get back to some sort of "normal" feeling.

Anyway...just a few more thoughts to throw into the mix for you. Good luck!! :)

I am not surprised you feel full at 1200 cals, especially if it is in the form of fruits and vegetables. At first I thought your stomach may have shrunk from your starvation diet days, but then I remembered you are mostly vegan- lol. That is a lot of cellulose and water for the stomach.
It would not be difficult for you to adopt a vegan diet that was more calorically dense, and still have you not feeling too full.
I suggest adding more nuts/nut butter, seeds, bean pastes, coconut, dried fruit as well as ensuring you meet your protein needs. A gradual intake would be best.
I realize that food can be very emotional for some people, and you may be used to this sense of deprivation. It may be scary to try to change. It could very helpful for you to keep track of how you feel when you eat a bit more. Just my two cents.

Thank You ladies... the menopause era has come and gone thankfully..you have all given me much to consider and some great insight. I do consume the many things mentioned, just not on a rigid basis.. this can be so frustrating.

Hey sista, I aint no lady!!! LOL:evil:
