Needsize 5x5 is the best routine I've ever found!

I just set another PR today (on the leg press.) I have been steadily setting new PRs ever since I started following Needsize's 5x5.

The shit does work....and it works for any lift under the sun that you want to increase.....If more trainees had the patience to do the 5x5 for at least 2-3 training cycles per year, there would be a lot more strong people in the world.

i think when i move to seattle ill start 5x5, it sounds like an awesome routine. for now ill stick to killin each muscle group :D

It really does work a treat.

Biceps are lagging a little, but they have always been a problem area for me.

Any suggestions for biceps are welcome.

Currently doing straight bar curls 5x5, followed by seated aleternate dunbell curls 2 x 8.

try to do seated curls simultaneously, when I did one at a time I noticed a lot of shoulder movement that took some stress of my bis.

SofaGeorge I just started this routine and have to say it is one of the best I have ever tryed for strength and size

I really hit my bi's hard. I take an entire day for bi's and tri's. I do a 5x5 standing ez-curl, 2x8-10 dumbell incline, and finish it off with a 2x8-10 standing dumbell curl. I've had good results with the high volume since bi's only get hit a little on back day with rows and pulldowns.

But anyway, 5x5 kicks ass. As long as I train my balls off each week, I find that I can almost always add some weight to the bar the next week.

5x5 is awesome. Now Im doing a 3x5, 1x8 and I think I like it even more. Same principles apply but first 3 sets are to 5 and last one is to 8. This is a variation picked up from NS (Im not sure if he still does it) but it is AWESOME. Something about that set of 8 at the end.

YES!!!!!!!!

5X5 Rocks!!

I was in the gym yesterday doing military shoulder presses on the smith with my max weight (working set) ever when this "beast" who's been in there often starts up a conversation with me. During our conversation, I hear this guy has been into body building heavy for years, and years and it's clear he knows/knew his shit.

So anyway, he says to me "That's some really nice weight your pushing there!"

Made my fuckin day that's fer sure!!

I'm significantly smaller than this guy (205 @ 12.8%bf) and I was matching, or almost matching his weight yesterday on several excersises.

THERE IS NO WAY IN FUCKING HELL I COULD HAVE EVER DONE THAT WITHOUT 5X5 TRAINING!!!

I was stagnated with straight sets, pyramids, bfls, whatever for months til I started 5x5 and now I'm way beyond what I could even "touch" 5 or 6 months ago. And I've only been doing 5X5 since mid February!

I Genuflect as I pass my 5X5 shrine on the way out the door!

I'm really glad to hear you guys are having so much success with this
