lol jk Don``t know if she actually has it. She just called from work, One of her patients has Scabies and they`re gonna treat everybody that came in close contact with him. She was definately close with this patient, working with his feet and arms etc.They don`t know who got it, I`m not sure they can tell yet because it takes a while to find out. I gotta call our Pediatrician and ask what we need to do for our 2 year old.

just behave as if everyone in the house were infected. the treatments for these are cheap. ask your pharmacist which of the 2 major medications they supply for the one which is guaranteed not to affect pregnant women (the other one hasnt been classified properly)

They`re giving her medication at her work. They gave everybody that worked with the patient meds. Actually they ordered it and are awaiting the meds. The Medical director does`nt seem that worried about it. It`s not like they have it, they were in contact with someone that had it. I do understand that you may have to assume that you have it, but I`m unsure the protocol.

she has already been in contact with that patient before his outbreak, so if she did get infected then she already brought it into the house/cars etc.. boil all of your sheets, towels, disinfect the bathroom, and clean the carpets, furniture etc. scabies is treatable although it is a bitch if you have it. dont worry because the damage is done now. chances are she did not contract it. i work in the medical field and we wear gloves and take other precautions to protect ourselves from these things, but the chance is already there. scabies is like chicken pox, you are contagious before the outbreak and also during the outbreak, same thing with pink eye.

I found out that the patient is NOT comfirmed YET if he has it or not. The doc will be checking him today to verify. They prescribed the meds as a precautionary action. My wife applied the cream they gave her, Acticin (permethren cream 5%). I think it was a waste of time, she should have just waited until today to find out if the patient had it or not. She`s been treating him for a week and now what`s the sudden urgency? lol One more day would`nt kill anyone. IMO

btw She does use gloves when treating patients. They said it was still a risk. I can understand their concern for everyone. Just a little bump in the road, it could have been worse.
