My Past Weekends Contest Post (DJ's A Beast!)

What's up guys? Just wanted to post that I took 4th place in the middleweight class this past Saturday at the John Simmons Classic right out of Detroit, Michigan. Could've taken 2nd or 3rd if my conditioning would have remained the same as it was the night before, but I think my nerves and cortisol got the best of me even though I didn't feel that nervous. Just went flat and lost most of my vascularity. Bullshit, but that's life. Pretty solid competition though and I still managed to come ahead of six others so all in all I guess it's ok. Nothing like taking first though. I also was planning on doing the Ohio State this coming up weekend but w/ fatigue, lack of sleep, and so much prep I've actually come down w/ the flu and don't think I'll be able to make it. 16 wks of dieting for a 4th place trophy, talk about commitment. Anyways, I'll probably take a little break and then get back to the real world for awhile. Also, just wanted to let you know that Dennis James and Dexter Jackson both guest posed at this event and they both looked phenomenol. Dennis James especially looked incredible! He has definitely made some serious progress over the last year. He might be a threat if he can hold on until the Olympia. I might be able to post some pics when I get my film back. If I can I will! One last note I thought was pretty funny. Six weeks out from the Olympia as I was leaving, Dexter Jackson had a big old bag full of Burger King sitting in front of him that some guy brought him. Ain't that some shit! A big ol bag of BK six weeks out from the big show. Genetics are a muther f**ka unless it was a bag full of plain grilled chicken breasts. I DOUBT IT!!

what did you do in your last 4 days prior to show may have been a dieting slip up rather then cortisol levels esp if you were still vascular

John Simmons was a judge for some NPC shows in Detroit I won my class in back in the mid-90s. Seemed like a good guy. Trained at my gym sometimes. I hope his contest went well for him. Congrats bro. Competing is a shitload of work for a small amount of time in the sun, especially when you don't win. Its all about the self improvement & dedication in the end. Good work....love to see pics....
