Meghan Hobman pics.....

I'm impressed. And that's not easy to do. Takes alot of bravery to go against the grain as these girls do...

Within the world of powerlifting these two are good lifters but I'm not sure than they are considered an oddity. In the wider world though they are always going to be an oddity. There are grown men that couldnt take 200lb to parallel in a squat let alone walk out with 450.

In a similar manner, most men could bench press 450 if they trained correctly....but how many actually do?

People should be inspired by these people.....not intimidated.

One thing to keep in mind folks is that girls develop much quicker than boys. And also, when under proper supervision and coaching, it is not unusual for beginners to double, or even triple their starting lifts.

Pound for pound, women can approach 80% of the lifting power of men in the lower body. It's not near as great in the upper body, long the lines of 60% if I remember correctly.

Now please understand that I'm in no way taking anything away from these two outstanding individuals. Far from it. They have the potential to change and redefine women's power lifting. But in the same vein, I wish that these two were not such an "oddity" as I truly belive that if we took away the psychosocial barriers we would see these two as possibly being only above average....

Well said. I sure as hell would train harder if I noticed a woman doing more weight that I did. These women have what most guys don't. Guts and intensity...

Flex, it should just say here on this board - trust me.

Warlobo, you are right

It is good to see Jenna get some notice.
I would like to think she would get the respect of the other men on this site, I know she has the respect of those of us who live in or visit Columbia.
