After a pretty wacky day... I was ready for a kickass workout...

I started off with my frontsquats... I did 6 sets, the last two were for 225 for 6 and then I said ... Today I felt insulted, drudged... and down-right ... well.. .down... so I strapped on 245 onto the bar and decided to try to get a couple...and knocked out FIVE reps... my ass went down DEEP..... geez... if I wasn't talking about weightlifting, this would be homoerrotic??? :)

I finished up with stiffy-deads and leg curls and calves...

FUN workout... legs feel BLASTED

Cit, nise job dude. Hey let me ask you a question, where do you hold the bar on front squats. I have tried them from time to time. Sometimes i hold the bar on the divet of my delt attachment, but then i feel like the weight is too far back and iwill topple over. But then sometimes, i try to let the weight go farther forward and i just feel like its too much weight to have on my arms to hold up and distracts me from the squat itself.

Any suggestions for me would be cool. i am sure that i could search for stuff, but seeing as you seem to know firsthand, and all...

Congrats on the reps dude,

The bar rests right up against my throat and sits right near the divit on my shoulder... if not more on the pad... my hands are crossed in front of my face and elbows are pointing upward to keep me honest on the lift. I am gripping the bar palms down.

I don't think you can hold AS much weight on fronts as you can on back... not without some sort of towel or something... I've not gone over 245lbs yet though on fronts, so I don't know how much heavier the front of my shoulders can handle...

Does that help?

I'm sure your legs felt blasted. Because you did 6 sets and overtrained your legs to hell. Unless 3 or 4 of those were warmup sets, but why would you count those?

I'm sorry dude, but there's no way you could be training squats with real intensity for 6 sets.

Try just one set of 20 rep (back) squats rest paused. Use weight that you would fail with 10 at. By 15 you should want to give up because you feel like you're going to die. The last 5 should take every ounce of your willpower.

Until you try something like this, you're just another one of hundreds I see at the gym just going through the motions. There's nothing better than getting that "what the fuck is he doing, trying to kill himself?" look from the guy in the leg press doing 1/4 reps.

i used to dread leg day, but now i look forward to them :D nothing better than trying to walk down those 2 flights of stairs leaving the gym after doggy squatting until you can't walk :D

I DISAGREE.... I think you CAN work your legs with intensity for 6 sets of squats... Not all were at the 5 rep mark... 3 were at 10 and 3 were at around 5-6...
