Knee and Lower Back Pain

Well I started the 5x5 6 weeks ago and things are going great. My strength and size is increasing with eatin just around maimtence. A few weeks ago ran three days in a row and both my knees started to get an achy feeling. Over the next two weeks I played a few sports and my knees got worse. Its been two months now and my knees still havent quit hurting and i havent done any cardio since then. I am a commercial beekeeper so i spend all day picking up heavy stuff as well as standing on concrete so my knees and lower back get no rest. I am contemplating stopping the heavy lifting on my lower body for a bit and switching to some lighter excercises and focus heavily on core strength. I want to get my body ready for more heavy lifting in the future and i want to reduce possible injuries so what do yall think? What kind of workout should i shoot for? What core excercises should i rely heavily on?

Go see a physiotherapist, they will help you out. Could be a number of things going on. Damaged bursas, inflammed tendons etc. Could be caused by poor flexibility and bad technique! If your lifting heavy weight with bad technique problems will arise pretty damn quick. Stretch ALOT functional stretching, static stretches etc. Work on your assistance exercises and core exercises. planks, french curls, calf raises etc. No one can really give you a program to go off without knowing all your stats, fitness levels and so on. My advice to you would be go see a professional in your local area that you can work with face to face, good luck. INJURIES BLOW!!!

Thanks yall, Im 19 amd been lifting two years now. My knees only hurt when i do any form of jumping or running. Lifting doesnt really leave me sore of any sort of pain but I figured it does nothing more but contribute to the problem.

Seriously dude if its bothering you go see a physiotherapist because if you just ignore it its only going to get worse

Also bro if your doing plyos and your not ready for it your going to injury yourself, because your ligaments and supporting muscles arent strong enough for that training. the ASCA (australian strength & conditioning association) guidelines states you must be able to squat your own body weight before starting any plyometric training. so thats your bodyweight plus your bodyweight on the bar my friend

A great thing to do is to plan a deload week or two. Do all the same lifts in the gym but half the weight or even 70% the weights and keep the same reps. All easy sets. See if you recover and if the exercises/weight/form is what is causing the problem.

Also, make a list of similar exercises that work the same muscles that you are training now and do a 2 week exercise change to see if that helps.

I appreciate the input yall, I switched up the other day and done some leg presses and stiff leg deadlifts and I feel pretty good today. I think I am just gonna lay off the squats and deads and work on accessory work and core strength for a while. And so far as squatting bodyweight on the bar, I have no problem with that. So i guess it just comes down to bad form. I try really hard to focus on the form and I thought I had it here recently but I think the damage has been done :(
