Every year the Kappa fraternity has there fucking beach party on Galveston Island, and they fucking tear up the entire place. They totally trash the beach, and turn every corner into ghetto mania. It's fucking sick, and I am pissed cuz now the seawall has to be cleaned and during the weekend the surf is usually up, but we can't go, because there is absolutly NO parking, and a normally 30 minute drive takes about 2 hours, and another hour to find a parking space, then the walk from your car (cuz you had to park a mile) takes another 30 minutes. Also EVERY store on the island closes execpt the hotels.
The damn Kappa assholes tried to get Jesse Jackson in on it, to say that it's racist to close all the stores just cuz the majority of the beach goers were black. He couldn't do shit though, cuz all the stores saved their reports from the previous years, and they showed that there was more theft on Kappa weekend than all year combined. Stupid ghetto people.
So, I had a weekend of next to none surfing, and no beach at all.
Sorry for the vent, but I'm pissed.

Peyote and I spoke about this earlier, he is right, its a damn shame what the Kappas and Q's do to that place, even the fast food restaurants close, seriously, you know its bad if a KFC is closing, shooooooooooooooooot. peace

I am in the Surfrider Foundation and we have tried to, but the problem is that it would be like tring to stop the million man march from happening. It's open space and whoever occupies it, so be it. At least thats what they told us. It's been done year after year, and there is very little that can be done. The biggest problem is the cleanup afterwards. It costs an estimated 30 thousand to clean, and yet the city makes absoluty zero dollars, because every store and business closes in fear of losing money. They would rather make no money then take the chance of being robbed or losing money due to cleaning the mess that they leave behind. It's really sick.
Thanks for the concern, and the Surfrider Foundation does and will continue to try and find a way or ways to reduce the chaos over Kappa Weekend.

So to answer your question, YES there is planty of surf in Texas, and some good surf at that!
Also go to Swell.com and there is an article on the surf in Texas, and all the breaks along the coast.

sounds like they need to start writing a bunch of paking and littering citations.. that will help some.. I know here in NC.. littering fines are up to $1000. Maybe that would at least help keep the place clean...also, this wasy the city can at least get back some of the $$$ the are spending for clean up

Nobody from my old high school ('99--The Woodlands!) even goes to Galveston that weekend anymore after Prom (it always lands at the same fucking time ), 'cause it's so trashy and crowded...
