Had PT again today - was able to get to 102 degrees bend by doing wall slides....they told me the bend will come in time - but what I really need to work on is straightening my leg.....they didn't make me cry today - Marty told me that Ariel & Noel both felt EXTREMELY BADLY about hurting me the other day.....

Oh and they gave me stim today....

Saw the Dr. again today....I can sleep without the immobilizer now....but when moving about - I need to either be in my immobilizer or in my Donjoy brace, but I can't wear the Donjoy brace until the swelling goes down.....Dr. said today my calf & foot swelling is due to my ACE bandage & sock being too tight....the discoloration they said is not a big deal - leg looks normal (certain areas due to bruising & the Betadine).....They removed the stitches (regular thread ones) also - which means I can shower without a plastic bag!!....They wouldn't tell me where the graft came from (as in who) cuz they don't get that information....they took 2 X-rays and I'm to remain on crutches for now - or until I can walk without a limp.....

Oh they never told me or gave me an update on how much weight I can put on my leg for now - they said last time no more than 25lbs....PT will call for the info....

102 degrees, already. You rock! :garza:

GREAT news on the showering (finally, right?)! I remember that day! :) LOL!

REALLY focus on straightening your leg, Jens. It SUCKS, but you've got to get there as soon as possible.

Memories... I remember that we used to have our athletes (and my own ACL) work on flexion by lowering themselves in a chair. Wow, we would sweat and our breath would be labored. By the end of the session (3 flexions would take what seemed like an eternity, drinking ice water between each one because of all the sweat from the pain), our triceps would be tired from holding our bodyweight up in the chair - like doing bench dips, almost.

You'll get there, Jens. :) ((hug))

Had PT again yesterday afternoon - was supposed to go this morning, but hubby had a business trip & couldn't take me & I can't drive myself yet.....had a different guy at PT that I've never seen before - I didn't like his personality that much for some reason....

Another thing I didn't like is that I have to do my PT with no immobilizer, ACE bandages or guaze, etc....so my leg is "bare" so to speak....and my incisions are only a week out from surgery.....they are kind of scabbed over & they are closed....but he's still working on my knee & moving my kneecap around with his bare hands (no gloves) after going from me to two other girls.....I didn't like that....don't know if I can get an infection or not, but still that doesn't sit well with me.....so at the end of PT I rubbed it all down (incisions too) with alcohol.....

Well for all of that - I was able to get my knee straight....and also I was able to get 100 degrees bend in my right leg while laying on my back - previously was only able to get that doing wall slides.....so a productive day....

Discovered the bar across from PT had $3 Apple-tinis last nite also - so I had 3........YUM!!

$3 Apple-tinis??!!! You ROCK!

And nice work at the PT, especially with the extension. :) I agree with you on the glove issue...

MMMMM those apple-tinis were good too..... :p

Well I don't know if it's a legitimate concern or not....but I just didn't like it....

I would not like that either! I would suggest to him to use gloves next time. Afterall you'll have to live with the issue if you catch something. No need for any extras!

Congrats!!!

It's great to hear you are progressing well on your recovery Jens! I agree about the gloves. You have healing wounds and you don't know where his hands have been. So far 3 of us are with you on the glove issue. Motion Carried - gloves it is!

Can't wait to read where you are fully recovered!
