Nice work on the 90. You'll be at 95 next time. :) Did they hook you up to stim at all, yet, for the quad?

I'm sorry about the hyperextension. That part is always tough. Really tough. Keep as strong as you can and remember the end result...fresh snow, the wind in your face, and the exhileration of speed. :) :friends:

Yeah I'm trying.....they asked me yesterday what my goals were & I said 1) I hope to do the Sept 24th show and 2) I want to be 1st in line for the Gondi on opening day next season....

They didn't use any stim at all.....but my quad feels like it's been worked as it's pretty "tired" and achy - woke me up a few times overnight actually.....

Well tomorrow will be 1 week - so I'm pretty much at the same place....

I "know" these people too from going there for 1 month prior to surgery....

The girl who yanked my leg, Ariel, said she was sorry - said since I was so "tough" prior to surgery, she didn't expect me to be so wimpy today.....Ummmm BIG changes in 2 weeks there, hun.... :lmao: I think she felt bad when I started to cry.....
I understand her apologies... but why would you yank on a healing body part???
Hang in there girl you're doing great!!!

the joints and ligaments really don't have much healing to do at this point. the new acl isn't going anywhere unless she actually cuts it with some extreme force putting lateral pressure on it. The majority of the pain comes from the swelling and just plain old stiffness, she hasn't used the thing ever since she injured it really. At least not how she normally would.

Yeah the swelling around the knee is pretty significant.....looks like a grapefruit stuffed in there.....and doing my exercises makes my knee feel like it's going to "explode" and pop out the stitches.....Also, my calf & foot are slightly swollen....

And I've read somewhere that the new ACL is at it's weakest about 1 month (maybe longer) out of surgery - but it will vascularize (ie my body will end up making it it's own) in about 1 year....so the graft is "dead" now - but capillaries will end up growing thru it, etc....crazy!

Edit: Next short term goal (other than reducing swelling & getting my flex back) is to *try* and get my husband to STOP feeding me!! :verygood:

Managed to do my exercises today with not a ton of pain, which is good....

Did the wall slides to 90 degrees bend.....AND Ta-daa!! Was able to do 3 sets of 10 leg raises!! Yay!! Some pain on these as they engage my kneecap, but at least my quad has been reacquired....
