I lift on monday to fridays and rest on the weekend. Im trying to cut weight but i wanted to kno if doin cardio on my rest days would be okay to do. And if so do i do jus light cardio or more?

Do it on training days, but seperate it from the weights. After lifting its crucial to feed the machine and start recovering. You don't want to be doing cardio for another 30+ min when your muscles need nutrients. I find doing cardio in the morning is best for me, and it gives me plenty of time to rest before lifting. It also energizes me for the day. But on rest days, make sure you rest. I'm a firm believer that overtraining is caused by lack of rest and nutrition. This is also why they don't grow.

Thanks thats what i was kinda thinkin of doin cuz i work mornings and i lift after work so yah should be a perfect routine. Thanks for the help

I think it's always beneficial by doing something extra thing in your resting days. Rather you can do yoga or you can do some cardio in that time.

You need to have a day where no systems are taxed - muscular, skeletal, adrenal, cardio vascular, whatever.

This is not technically true if done correctly. If you are doing LISS (low intensity steady state) cardio on some days and you don't go overboard on your weight training there is no need for a day off. I've been doing some form of training 7 days a week for most of the past year. I've also gained 15 lbs of muscle and lost 5 lbs of fat in that time as well.

Overtraining is not dependent on the number of days you work out. It's dependent on what you do those days
