I'm sick of being broke

Have you contacted your local legal aid office? Legal aid attorneys provide free legal assistance to low income individuals. Your case would be a priority, as it involves child support/child custody and domestic violence. If you have a law school in your area, you could also probably get a free student attorney through the law school's legal clinic.

Yep. What I didn't do, where I completely screws up was I didn not call the police. I have no documentation of the domestic violence. I should have called the cops the last day I was there and gotten a restraining order against him. But instead I ran with the boys.

I didn't start calling the cops till after I left him. I have all that documentation. I have the court records from his arrest for attacking his neighbors. Court is at the end of the month. Those legal aid offices are very slow and you have to work around thier schedule. That's hard to do cause I have to work.

I pay my ex 12860..a month people...a month..do you think that's fair? I was married for 4 years...2 kids. Do you see me fucking complaining? Do you think my ex is? I think not lol...fuck all women

Holy shit. I live off of $1800 per month. And after that she gets $2800 in child support?

Fuck her for sure. I would just be grateful if he would pay $300 per month. Just help a little.

how did it work out for you ROBinHood?
and for much how longer can we think of new ROB names, ROBin Leach?

The account was actually up 20% after a month or so, I got greedy with teh visions of robin leach and didnt cash out, then it all tanked. Apparently wulf and jon lost much more than the smaller investors like me. Was a nice chunk of change but nothing to ruin your life over.

A slow lawyer is better than no lawyer. The hardest part is the intake process, as legal aid is in high demand. Getting started can be daunting, but once your case has been accepted you shouldn't have too much of a time commitment. Usually it is a phone intake, an in person meeting, getting all the documents to your attorney and maybe a few more phone calls before court. At least you have a month - it isn't uncommon for legal aid attorneys to get calls from a prospective client that has court in a day or two (and even those cases are sometimes accepted). If you haven't been through the intake process, you should at least try.

Do people always have to go to court for a divorce In the US? I never stepped one foot in a court in Canada. I had a mediation lawyer...it got all settled without having to spend lots of money on court proceedings

If the divorce is amicable then usually no court is needed. If they both want to fight it out then court is the only way usually.
