I'm curious as to what you think about this routine....

Currently, I'm doing this split:

Sunday - OFF
Monday - Chest/Tri's/rehab left leg
Tuesday - Back
Wed- OFF/rehab left leg
Thursday - Bi's/Abs
Friday - Shoulders/Traps/rehab left leg
Saturday - OFF

So thats what I'm going at right now. This is what I thought about doing, on Monday/Wed/Friday, it would be different kinds of core exercises, But I'd do different exercises each time, such as there would be two workouts, or three, like A, B, and C. I'd do A on mondays, B on Wed, and so on.

Workout A
Incline BB
Chins
Dips
BB Curls

And maybe something else. Its just an idea. Workout B, would be the same bodyparts getting hit, however it would be different exercises, so I'd be hitting everything three times a week, but with only one exercise, and maybe a few sets of it. So basically on workout B, I'd do

Flat BB
BB Rows
Close Grip
Preacher Curls

I can't squat or dead at the moment, since I'm only 11 weeks out of having my left ACL reconstruction. This is just an idea I've tossed around. I'm not looking for really size gains here at all, as I think it could be to much of hitting everything, but I imagine I'd get stronger. Any thoughts?

Sounds somewhat similar to HST or Old School. There's nothing wrong with hitting the whole body 3 times a weel, IMO. Just don't go too heavy or do too many sets of each exercise (stick to 1 or 2 probably) or you might overtrain.

Actually, it sounds more like Louden's workout than anything. Maybe he can comment on it.

It does slightly resemble DC training in a small way, however I don't have one all out set. I wish I could do some compound leg stuff such as squat, but I'm no where near ready for that yet.

do they have you doing leg preses yet?

i couldn't squat for 9 months after my surgery.....and I wouldn't recommend trying it before that

but I was back in the gym the week after I had it hoppin around...doing upper body stuff....lol

Oh, I dunno about DC. If you ask him, there's a lot more to it than just the volume. Anyways, just noticed that you're in TX. I might have asked before, but where at?

Actually, I don't really train my right leg, since I don't want to cause an imbalance. I was told not to as well, I do alot of one legged things. Yeah, I was doing mini squats like 5 days out of surgery, and I'm going at it on the leg presses. OH MY GOSH I didnt know you could get so weak in such a little amount of time. ITs hard, REALLY hard. But I'm making it.

Yeah last time I blew out my knee I couldn't even do extensions with 20lbs at first. The doc told me to keep my other leg strong but not to emphasize on making it stronger just keep it in shape until the knee heals.

Cheers,
Scotsman

Oh the other leg is in pretty good shape since its taken most of the abuse from me babying my other leg. Its getting better, but its so slow, I'm losing my mind.
