I passed out and dropped the bar on myself

Okay heres the latest back for my second week of maximum effort on the incline and shooting to break 185 lbs. So I do my warmups and work up to 185 and hit it good then I load up 195 and bamm! up it goes, then I pumped I load 205 and hit that too. So I'm going to go for 215 I ask my spotter for a liftoff (the first one I might add the rest of em I took it from the rack) anyway I let it come down and exploded at the bottom and at first I thought stuck in the hole but then it started to rise slowly but surely I was giving it everything I had I could feel the blood rushing to my head and then ................... the bar was on my stomach and I didn't know what happened the whole gym was looking and a couple guys came over and slid the plates off the bar. I asked my spotter what happened and he said he was sure I had it that I was 3 or four inches from locking it out and that then it just went foward and hit me on the gut. I am okay though a little scrape on my belly a little shaken up but I am fine.

Shit, could've been bad bro
I made the mistake of having some strange dude spot my incline lift the other day. I wanted to put up 315 a couple times and I couldn't put it up. Problem was neither could the fucker I asked for a spot. Grrrrr:mad:

Damn!! I lift in my basement and when I started Westside, I set the days up so that my ME bench would be on a day that I had a spotter. If your spotters let the bar drop on you, why are they there? I realize in certain instance something might happen, but c'mon. It's not like it was 700 lbs or something. I'd smack those fewls.

Good to hear you weren't hurt though and congrats on the progress.

yea I hear you as far as spotters not grabbing the bar I think he assumed if I got half way then I should get it but I don't think my triceps were 100 percent otherwise I think I win on that lift, am I right at that point in the lift isn't the tri's that finish it off and lock it out for you? I think I've been fatiguing the tri's a little too much on DE day?!

New spotter needed though nonetheless. Just glad it wasn't my nuts.

Yeah, sounds right to me. If you got it up that far no problem then you just need to bang it out with your triceps. Now you have a new weight to shoot for when you hit the inclines next.

Talk about bad spotting. just finished my first meet and the giys spotting for squat would just stand ther and watch a guy struggle with 500 600 lbs. when he ccouldn't get it they just kind of lackidazically grabed the bar and expected him to dump it forwards which is what 3 guys ended up doing. I made damn sure that i was not getting stuck with those jerkoffs spotting me.

i was doing flat bench about a year ago, no spotter and my shoulder popped the bar came straight down on my face it bloodied my nose and knocked one of my front teeth out. it hurt my pride more than my face. that incident still scares me and i believe it keeps me from my max potential on my bench even with a spotter.:bawling:

damn bro i had the same thing happen to a buddy of mine... knocked his toothe out though:fro:

I remember the first time i tried dumbell presses, (I think everyone remembers there first time they tried dumbells...hehe) i had no spotter at the time, I was using the rubber coated hex 100 pounders i got 5 reps in and on the 6th rep i lost total control and lost balance and one of the dumbells came down and smashe me rifgt on the fukin chin. I was dizzy for a little while, but thank god it was a rubber coated one...lol. Dumbells are a whole new ballgame. Ive gotten better at balancing the weight. ANd when i plataue on my bench , i switch to bumbells to get out of the rutt,
