I really hope someone can help me.... about 3 years ago, I was doing dumbell shoulder press. The bench wasnt locked in and as I had them in the upper position, the bench jerked back and locked into place, but unfortunately it threw me off balance....the dumbell did not jerk backwards, but it moved backwards and I heard a crunching sound and then let go of the dumbell...it was very minor, didnt hurt for more than 3 days....

Now 3 years later, the shoulder is still weak. It cracks and crunches a bit when I move it around, and it seems to be getting a bit worse....there is no pain at all, it just feels dead.....it feels like a part of my shoulder was replaced with dead (scar?) tissue and has no bloodflow, and no strength...its really starting to hold me back in my lifts.....

Suggestions? =) I could really use the help...

PS - On any exercise such as dumbell shoulder or chest presses, I am very weak at the lower part of the exercise....for example, doing dumbell presses on flat, I can do 110's when I have a spotter to get me up the first time, and can take them almost but not quite full range, but without a spotter I'll struggle with the 95's until I get them past a certain point...

I had almost the same type of injury as you are describing.

I was doing behind the neck presses when the bar drifted back on me at the top.

I'm good as new with alot of cubans and reverse cubans and various other rotator work.

But your injury sounds quite a bit more serious than mine was.
That sounds real serious Frackal. Cracks and crunches, and numbness is some serious shit.

You need a doc bud.

No it's not numb....it's as though there is no strength to that part of my shoulder, I think it's the rotator cuff, if I were to guess I'd say it feels like it was stretched out and now has alot of scar tissue around it.... I've been able to train 3 years around it without pain or much problem but the time has come to deal with it because it's not getting better like my back has.

well....... do you train them hard, or take it easy do to injury?

your feeling weak may be due to just that, being weak?

just wondering

I have the exact same injury except mine occured from wrestling in High School. A year later and its still here. I can do shoulder presses with 85lb dumbells from ear level up, but as soon as i go lower the shoulder gives out and loses all strength and down go the dumbells. I dont dare use a barbell for pressing. My doc told me to get an advanced x-ray i forget the name (MRI?). I dont want sergury yet, since im preparing for a teen compitition in oct. and nov. Im 19 now so il never get this chance again. I can deal with the problem afterwards, seeing as it isnt going anywhere. Lemme know how u check out.
