i wanna do 400 by time i grad from college. 2 more years. i am probably getting up to around 300 on flat now (i really don't know 'cause i've been working incline the past 6 weeks or so 'cause that's a weak point) for 1rm. do you think it's possible to get up to 400 in that time? i also plan on implementing a more powerlifting style of training sometime in the future (probably starting after i finish my first cycle). i am not sure exactly what yet since i haven't researched that yet. but i thought 400 was a nice goal.

DO a search on WBB training. It calls for a heavry and a light chest day...works very well....YOu can bump up 30-40 pounds in a couple months

I'd be VERY cautious using this, or any other strength program that can have such drastic results. I use rest-pause sets from time to time, but they have blown out my elbows from having such drastic increases in weight. 9mos ago I got 315 for 8 went up to 375 for 1, on the same day. Now I can hit 335 for 1 on a great day. Oh, yeah, I'm 20, so it's not such a good idea to have no tendons left so early on.

Good job Corn. Joint pain is hell, what I do is one week heavy and one week light to give my joints time to heal up and recover from being butchered.

Spent - it doesn't work the way you think.

The light day using 55% of max for sets of 3 is what builds the explosive strength. The normal heavy day works attachments etc, the speed day is what will really increase the weight you move

Little bitch went first.

215 - arching and bouncing for 5

I did 315 for an EASY 6 with pause.

His reaction - "YOu just beat me by one...I wanna re-do."

He got 215 for 4 about three minutes later

I got 315 for 8.

He asked why I "tanked" on the first set. I told him I saw no need in taking a chance on maxing out when an easy effort would win.

Totals - 215 for 9 for him.

315 for 14 for me

Awesome lifts. And ego stays in tact.
