to find out what this lump in my throat is. I have been having alot of problems with my glands swelling in the past year. They will swell so bad I can't turn my head. I finally went to the doc this week about it and he found a lump that was'nt supposed to be there. I guess I'm a bit nervous about it. It seems this year my health has went to shit. A divorce and stress will do major damage to your body! I'm still of sound mind though and enjoy life very much. That won't ever change!

Good luck bro. No to scare you, but a friend had a lump in his lymph node(sp) for months before getting it checked out. Turns out is cancer and spread to the point they would basically have to remove his throat/neck to get rid of it. They say it's terminal. Had a benefit for him last month. Poor dudes only 26 too.

I know. Totally not my intention, but I had to tell him. I feel so bad for the kid I know and would hate to see it happen to someone else. I think he was a chewer or something tho. Haven't really known him since high school. Got a newborn too.

I have a friend who has a similar situation, only he caught it in time. The location of the malignant lump was such that he had two options -- (1) surgery to remove it, which would also entail removing his entire tongue, or (2) months and months of high-tech radiation treatment. He had to travel from rural Alabama to Nashville every week for radiation, which used some space-age focussed beam apparatus. He lost a year of his life to the treatments, but he came out the other end with no remaining signs of the tumor and has been cancer free ever since.

That's awesome. Well worth the pain for that year of treatment. Imagine not having a toungue...no speech....

I'm not gonna add anything to that.
