how neccessary is high GI?

After training, how neccessary is it to ingest high GI carbs? I know they go into your muscles quicker, but would having an oatmeal shake suffice? I'm still getting a decent amount of carbs... they just happen to be low GI. I dont want to put on any fat so im avoiding high GI everywhere.

High gi carbs after a heavy workout will be totally absorbed by your muscles, even if you workout late at night. I wouldn't worry about gaining any fat from post w.o. carbs.
(My gains doubled after I started taking in the right carbs immediatly after training. )

Also, oatmeal will only slow down the digestion of your post w.o. shake, and you want all that protein to go to repairing your muscles asap.

but if your insulin resistant (and have a slow metab.) wont you store a reasonable amount of fat (and muscle) from having a bunch of high GI carbs after a workout?

basically, since im dieting and cutting, should I still do the "high GI thing"?
