i used to do 225 for 15 reps, then 245 10 reps, then 265 5 reps with goin about a 115 degree angle with my hamstrings to calves, now trying to make my legs parallel to the ground, 90 degree angle with hams to calves, i went all the way down to 135 lbs 155 then 185, is correct form this important on squat to lose that much weight, or will i soon recover my weight as i get used to teh form?

I have found the best growth comes from squatting right to the floor, bodybuilding is all about range of motion, you don't bench to a certain angle, squatting shouldn't be any different. It may affect your weight at first but once you get the form right your legs will never be the same.

I agree. I'm having a tough time getting my big ass down that low but I'm working on it.

One thing though, squatting that low can be extremely taxing on the knees IF you don't control the weight all the way through the motion. In other words, be sure you don't "bounce" at the bottom of the excercise. Practice with just the bar weight if you have to, but control the weight!!

not necessary at all to get down to the floor.

ankle and hip flexibility and femur length will dictate how you squat. flexibility can be worked on to a degree but you cant help how youre built. ive seen tall people go atf too, dont get me wrong. its just really taxing on the knees.

Too be honest I find it more taxing on my hips then knees, but I find a really solid warm up seems to take care of that. I see a lot of guys come in and go heavy without warming up much at all, but I seem to warm up forever. ie, for legs I do 10 minutes on treadmill, stretch, then do 10 reps with the bar, 8 with 135, 5 with 225, 3 with 275, 3 with 335, then to my working set. Feels like I'm there all day but I'm able to squat to the floor without pain.
