Ok Im still not sure on how many calories i should be consuming on a daily basis. Im pretty active, run around after a toddler, plus i go to the gym and actually workout for an hour 5 days a week. I do about 15-30 min of cardio, machines, and free weights. I alternate upperbody and lower body workouts. I eat every 2-3 hours and try!!!!! to drink 2 protein shakes a day- usually only get 1 down.
Im still stuck on trying to figure out calories and grams of protein though
my b/f who is a bodybuilder said i should start at 1800cals and 130g of protein, still hungry though- lost about 10lbs so far doing that- not alot of change in shape of my body.......and i know all this takes time- just want to make sure im on the right track
btw im also pretty petite in frame
thanks for the help

i want to lose weight, and gain muscle mass- not alot, but more than what im at now- also want to lower BF%
i eat whole wheat pastas already, lots of veggies and lean protein
and i do realize you cant cut weight and gain mass at the same time

Well, if your goal is to lose bf then I'd stick with a calorie range between 10x & 12x your current weight.

For example, if you weighed 100lbs - 10 x 100 = 1,000 & 12 x 100 = 1,200

Your daily intake would be between 1,000 & 1,200 cals and you could aim for a ratio of 40/40/30 of Protein/Carb/Fat. Use a free site like www.fitday.com to record your food & your ratios.
