protein shakes are different from food........why food your body want to chew all this food in the first place....you brain tells you to...that means there are enough digestive enzymes
whey is used very quickly.
Eggs are also very quick, but not as quick as whey.
Beef is slow digesting, I like to eat it later on in the day.
Chicken is mediocure, eat this at anytime.
Casien takes the longest, I like to consume this before bed.
Hope this helps.
Yes I read on average, 40-50 grams is the limit, and of course your body wont be using 100% of that for what you would want. Anything more than 50gs, is most likely being sent back out of the body in some way or form. Now this doesnt mean if your having a meal with chicken and such that you shouldnt eat it if the protein count is higher, just dont expect 100% of the protein to be used up as productively as you would like.
It takes 2-3 hours for Whey Protein to digest, it takes 5-8 for casien to digest.
I promise you nothing digests in a matter of minutes. Please also note than when you add to a shake... combine it with milk, add oats, whatever, this can have an affect affect on the digestability, the level of insulin spike of the carbs, etc.
