How come good mornings hurt my neck?

I have checked and I have the proper form, the bar is not resting on my neck. I place the bar exactly how I do with squats. The thing is when I bend forward, my hands kind of push the bar forward as well, putting a lot of strain on my neck. Is it that I am just weak, I just started doing them a while back.
 
bend over only until you are parallel with the ground.

i hope you arent bending further than that. if the bar is sitting on your traps and your neck is hurting, chances are it because your neck is getting tired. many people i train complain about holding up their heads when doing crunches! of all things.
 
No, I can barely get parallel to the groud as is :) I am very un-flexible. I need to work on that for sure, but to answer your question, I dont even bend parallel to the ground, close, but not quite parallel.
 
stretch more, its doesnt matter how far you go down for sldl's so longer arms would be pointless. as long as you keep your back flat and get into the stretch in the hams and squeeze your glutes as you come up.

Why are not flexible. You are pretty young right? and Female? You should be flexible as hell.You should try a Yoga class or something definitely a lot of stretching especially because you sound as if you are really into lifting now.
